Ceramics in Clontarf Art Exhibition, Clontarf GAA 7 - 9th December

Hi there just getting ready for an exhibition opening this Friday night at 8 pm in Aras Cluain Tarbh (Clontarf GAA Club) , Seafield Road, Clontarf, Dublin 3. Really excited about it and looking forward to it. This piece is called 'Some Fine Day', 25 x 25 cms and is 75 euro. It's box framed and is a one off piece, signed by me. All of my artworks in this exhibition are botanical and are inspired by the colours and plants in my garden so they really are homegrown.

The exhibition will have painting and sculpture in it by a great variety of artists including my friend sculptor Edwin Ryan who has a beautiful sports sculpture in it (perfect for hurling fans!).

So no need to schlep into town to see some original artwork, keep it local and Admission is free! The exhibition runs from 11 am to 7 pm this Saturday Dec 8th and 11 to 6 pm, Sunday Dec 9th. Or why not drop into the opening this Friday night Dec 7 for a glass of wine or two, all are welcome!

Queen of Tarts ceramics

Finally got some Queen of Tarts mugs and wall pieces into my sister's cafe, they looked very pretty sitting among the cakes with their fancy ribbons! Great to see them in public as it were and not in my studio, the wall plaques are cute too and have a little hook at the back so you could pop one on the kitchen wall easily...I also brought in some of the new blue and white work with a range of egg cups with different text...Wall plaques are 12 euro and the mugs 8 euro each!

January 2012 Pottery Classes - Enrolling Now

Hello there and thanks for checking out my blog. If you are interested in learning how to get started with clay or already have some experience and would like to progress then Brookwood Pottery's ceramic classes are what you are looking for! Over the course of a 10 week schedule you will learn how to design, handbuild and decorate your own pots, sculptures, vases, bowls and tiles. My teaching approach is relaxed and student based and, once the initial skills have been mastered, I am  happy to help you create your own designs. I work in an earthenware clay which allows pots to be brightly glazed and, of course, all work is fully fired.
